Managed Data Governance

Your data rules kept current: a live catalogue with owners, access reviews, quality scorecards, GDPR records and costs tied to teams.

Problem

Your register was true once

A governance document is accurate on the day it is signed and decaying by the end of the month. New sources land, new teams start building, and the data product register becomes a list of things that used to be true. Meanwhile the platform bill grows with nobody able to say which domain caused it.

  • • Tables added without an owner or a classification
  • • Access granted once and never reviewed
  • • GDPR evidence reconstructed the week before an audit
  • • Platform spend with no domain attached

Approach

From a register to a catalog

The same content as your governance model, enforced on the platform. Every data set catalogued, classified on arrival, accessible only through policy, and audited after. It sits on top of Managed Data Foundation: the platform service runs the infrastructure, this one governs what you put on it.

Catalog

Data sets, owners, glossary and the data product register curated. A monthly posture report and alerts for unowned data.

Policy

Access reviews operated, classification findings triaged, quality scorecards, and a quarterly governance forum.

Assurance

Personal-data map, access evidence and retention compliance: the GDPR evidence pack, produced continuously.

Data FinOps

Compute and storage spend attributed per domain and data product. Budgets, anomaly alerts, capacity right-sizing and monthly showback.

What It Costs

Priced to be approved, not evaluated

Onboarding comes with the landing zone and is folded into the monthly fee on a 12-month term: catalog populated from your register, glossary seeded with your critical data elements, classification scans baselined, access reviews wired to your change process, scorecards for your top three data products, audit routed into your SIEM, and FinOps baselined so the first report has real numbers in it.

None

Table meter

Nobody counts tables and nobody argues at renewal. Tool licences pass through on top.

The Bridge To AI

The catalog decides, for people and agents

Every AI conversation eventually arrives at one question: can the agent see our data, and should it? With Managed Data Governance you already have the answer. Certified data products are published to agents as MCP tools, scoped by the same access policy as your people.

Catalog and glossary

One place that says what a data set is, who owns it and what it means.

Classification and discovery

Personal and sensitive data found and labelled on arrival.

Access policy

Tag-based, reviewed on a cycle, with evidence of every decision.

Data products as agent context

The same policy for humans and agents, so AI doesn't need a second set of rules.

FAQ

Common questions

We run our own lakehouse. Can we buy only governance?
Yes. Some customers run their own platform and only want governance on top. Each service stands on its own.
Which catalog tools do you use?
The platform’s own first: Glue and SageMaker Catalog on AWS, Purview and the OneLake catalog on Microsoft. Third-party tools are supported where you already have them, with licences passed through.
