Platform Governance Model

What good looks like, what is not allowed and who owns which code, written down and signed off, typically within one to four weeks.

Problem

How did that change reach production?

A platform team is a hard first ask. It needs headcount, a tooling decision and agreement on whose standards win before anyone has written down what the standards are. Governance needs none of that. It answers the question your CISO and your auditor are both already asking: how does a change reach production, and who approved it?

  • • Every team and vendor with its own conventions
  • • No agreed rule for what blocks an apply
  • • Repos nobody owns, including the vendor ones
  • • Change evidence reconstructed before every audit

Approach

From first workshop to signed-off document

A few short workshops with your people, built on the Cloud² governance template and fitted to you. We write the document from what you tell us, review it with you, and a named engineering owner signs it off. Typically one to four weeks in all, depending on how fast your people can meet.

Orientation

Scope, teams and vendors, your VCS and pipeline landscape, and an honest look at how much still happens in the console.

Principles and standards

Which Cloud² principles you adopt, which are yours, and the naming, tagging, module and version rules.

Identity and promotion

Environments, promotion path, approvals, separation of duties, and OIDC instead of static credentials.

Policy and exceptions

Advisory, soft- and hard-mandatory tiers. What blocks an apply, and how an exception gets requested and time-boxed.

RACI and cadence

Code ownership, review rhythm, the DORA KPI set, and the ranking of your golden paths.

Document and handover

A Word document plus an editable policy catalogue and repo register. The handover includes a priced proposal for the platform landing zone, built from your own register.

What You Get

What good looks like, written down

Purpose and scope, engineering principles, standards, a policy catalogue with enforcement levels, your regulatory position (ISO 27001 change management, NIS2, DORA ICT change and third-party rules, the Cyber Resilience Act where you ship software), identity and environments, supply-chain rules, a repo and project register, a golden-path register, RACI, exception process and review cadence.

1–4 weeks

Calendar time

From first workshop to signed-off document.

A few hours

From your people

A named engineering owner, a security representative, and someone who knows where the code actually lives.

Why It Matters

The register decides what gets built

Three outputs turn straight into the platform. The landing zone is then priced against your own inventory, not our template.

Repo and project register

How many VCS organizations, how many projects, which vendors. It sizes the control plane.

Policy catalogue

Which rules block an apply on day one, and which only warn.

Golden-path register

Which blueprints and workflows ship first.

FAQ

Common questions

Do we need a platform or a VCS decision first?
No. There are no platform prerequisites and no tool decision needed. That is the point.
What isn't included?
Technical implementation, certification, audit or formal ISMS authoring, and application code standards for your developers. This governs infrastructure and platform code. Tool selection is limited to a recommendation.
What keeps the standard current after sign-off?
Managed Platform Governance. It compiles the catalogue into policy, scans every mapped repo and produces change evidence on every apply.
