Platform Landing Zone

Ready-made templates and automatic checks in your own GitHub or Azure DevOps, with your rules built in and one project taken all the way through. Typically within one to two weeks.

Problem

A standard nobody enforces is a suggestion

Your governance model says what good looks like and what gets blocked. Until the pipeline enforces it, those rules live in a document and a lot of goodwill. The Platform Landing Zone connects the Cloud² control plane to your own Git organization, with those rules actually switched on.

  • • Static cloud credentials stored in pipelines
  • • Changes that skip review when someone is in a hurry
  • • Every new project starting from a copy of the last one

Approach

Ready-made, so it is quick

Typically one to two weeks from kick-off to handover, with one project taken through the whole path. That is possible because the templates and checks are already written and tested, and the rules come straight from your governance model. We never take custody of your code: it is created in your organization and stays there.

GitHub

Enterprise or Team organization. Repository rulesets, reusable workflows, environments with required reviewers, and Actions OIDC to AWS, Azure and GCP. Our own reference implementation.

Azure DevOps

Azure Repos and Pipelines. Branch policies, extends templates with required-template checks, environments with approvals, and workload identity federation to Azure.

Blueprints and templates

Landing zone, connectivity and workload blueprints. Pipeline templates for validate, plan, scan, approve, deploy and verify: the only way to apply.

Policy gate

OPA and Checkov rules at the enforcement levels in your catalogue, running as required status checks.

Identity and change control

Workload identity federation with no static credentials. Branch protection, code owners and environment approvals per your promotion model.

Supply chain and audit

Secret scanning and dependency upkeep switched on, and the audit log streamed to your SIEM.

What It Costs

Known price, known timeline

The engagement ends with a qualified next step: design document and as-built, policy test evidence mapped to your governance model, an operations runbook, a two-hour handover with engineering, security and vendor leads, and the top three golden paths from your register, each with an indicative scope.

From kick-off to handover, typically.

1

Reference project

Proof the path works, and the template for the rest.

Every Control Has a Reason

Driven by your own decisions

Each control points back to the clause in your governance model that required it. When an auditor asks why a rule exists, the answer is already written down.

Identity model

Drives workload identity federation to your clouds.

Promotion model

Drives rulesets, required reviews and environment approvals.

Policy catalogue

Drives the gate and what blocks an apply.

Golden-path register

Drives which templates and blueprints ship first.

FAQ

Common questions

What do we need in place first?
An AWS Organization or Azure tenant with a working landing zone (or a Cloud² Foundation), a GitHub or Azure DevOps organization with owner access for the engagement, a federatable identity provider, Terraform or OpenTofu accepted, runner hosting agreed, and a signed-off governance model.
Does this move our existing repos?
No. Bringing existing repos onto the golden path, workflows beyond the reference project, VCS migrations and developer portals are scoped separately. So is running the platform afterwards: that is Managed Platform Foundation.
Can we have both GitHub and Azure DevOps?
Yes. A second VCS organization adds a second landing zone, priced the same way.
