Migration
Cloud2's Cloud Migration Mapping consists of two distinct areas. The first part is a discussion section that takes a look at the company's business, current situation and processes. This is where the company's ability to embark on a cloud migration journey is mapped.
The second part is the more technical part, where the current IT environment of the company is mapped programmatically, and a data-based Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculation is built for Cloud Travel.
STEP 1: MAPPING
We map the company's readiness to migrate to the cloud, using the AWS Migration readiness assessment tool. The mapping will be discussion-based and will use industry best practices such as the Well Architected Framework, Cloud Adaption Framework, Digital Maturity Benchmark, etc.
STEP 2: ANALYSIS
You will receive an analysis of the current state of your business. You get black and white about where you are going, as well as an understanding of where there is still a journey to go from a technical, business and cultural point of view.
STEP 3: PLAN
You will receive a prioritised development plan, an assessment of the implementation methods for the main developments, including costs, possible support models and concrete benefits of the impact of the different developments.
STEP 4: MAPPING & PLANNING
We map the current state of existing workloads and the resources needed in the cloud
We leverage cloud analytics tools to get accurate information about systems
(Cloudamize, Movere, Google Velostrata)
The Gartner 6R analysis classifies systems according to migration strategy. The goal is to find the optimal strategy for each system and avoid direct lift&shift migrations. The analysis allows us to estimate the cost and time required for the migration.
This step creates the conditions for the future migration

STEP 5: MIGRATION
The mechanisms designed and created during the mapping phase will be used to migrate systems according to the selected migration strategies.
In line with theCloud Governance model, the aim is to automate the creation of migratory environments using IAC tools (Terraform, Powershell, Cloudformation).
STEP 6: OPTIMIzATION
After migration, we move on to the optimisation phase, which in practice continues throughout the lifecycle of the system.
In line with the cloud management model, this means, for example, monitoring cost developments, using potential new services as part of the system, etc.
